Don't Walk Away
In a world of burnout, Marilyn Raichle made a unique discovery: her relationship with her mom could not function as caregiver and care recipient, but as mutual care partners.
Marilyn is a former care partner alongside her mom Jean, who lived with Alzheimer’s disease. While she was originally forced into this role, Marilyn’s perspective changed when Jean enrolled in art classes. Marilyn later wrote a memoir about Jean and her painting journey, called Don’t Walk Away—an homage to the advice that Jean had given her as a child.
